For a disabled person from Gomel, a lift was installed at the entrance (the neighbors were previously against)
In the house number 18 on the street of the People's Militia in Gomel, an electric lift was installed for a 27-year-old wheelchair user, Andrei Antonenko. His family has been trying to achieve this for several years: first, officials did not allow the installation, then neighbors opposed it.
Andrew confined to a wheelchair: Cerebral palsy as a result of birth trauma. He is quite an ordinary guy. He spends a lot of time on the Internet, friends come to visit him. However, getting out of the house is not as easy for him as you. He has no father, and it is necessary to count on his mother and sister, who with great difficulty drag him along the steps of the entrance to the elevator.
In 2015, the family decided to install an electric lift for Andrei. And began walking to the instances. Andrei was registered in another house, where Andrei's mother built an apartment for a concessional loan for 20 years. The fact that Andrei needed a lift in the house where he actually lived was not taken into account by officials. Officials asserted: "Not allowed." Why does Andrew not live in the house for registration? Because there the conditions for it are even worse: the staircase is even more difficult to move, the bathroom and the toilet are cramped for the wheelchair user.
The family reached the presidential administration, where they said that only re-registration would help. With the re-registration, too, it was not so simple. The owner of the apartment in which Andrew lived was his father. He divorced his mother and went to Russia, completely severing relations with his family. It was not possible to take his consent for registration. Misfortune helped. The father died, and the insurmountable wall of bureaucratic hell seemed to have collapsed. On Andrew as the owner began to make out an apartment. At the same time he had to get his absolutely legal electric lift. Happy end? Haha The story is just beginning.

Residents of the house worried about the possible noise of the lift and problems when carrying furniture. At the end of April, the district administration held a meeting at which local officials and experts urged residents that the lift would not cause them any problems.
After the meeting and the apartment round, 79 owners out of 176 voted to install the lift - 118 people participated in the voting. The lift was installed on the sponsorship. Paid for its operation will be the family Antonenko.
“I am glad that the issue was resolved positively. The lift is modern, it will not hurt anyone,” commented BelaPAN Andrei Antonenko.
May 28, he first went down the street with a lift.
"Emotions are positive. Today is our holiday. We moved out with Andrey and got up - very conveniently. The platform does not bother anyone, it does not create problems for residents, I think they have already seen this. The whole story may not be worth it, we will try everything forget it and we will continue to live in a positive way, "Tamara Antonenko said.
She thanked the city authorities for their help, in particular, she noted the chairman of the city executive committee, Pyotr Kirichenko, whom she called the "kind-hearted man."
Andrei also thanked the chairman of the city executive committee and the media for help in solving the problem.
